LLLT brush Empty LLLT brush

Post  ngb Fri Apr 12, 2013 2:08 pm

I'm looking into building a laser brush and I'm just wondering if OMG's website is still up to date. The page where you order the diodes is from 2008 for example. There also isn't much talk about this so does it even do anything? I don't need a helmet, I just need maybe a 2 inch diameter brush for my temples. I was thinking of just taping them together and building a 2 cm spacer or something. Would this be too strong and should they be diffuse and separated?

Hi ngb,

Nobody really uses the brushes anymore, since you need a good 15 to 20 minutes of direct coverage over the areas that you want to help. This means that you'd have to take potentially an hour or more with holding the brush over each part of your scalp that you wanted to benefit from LLLT, every other day. Pretty impractical. Best bet is to get a 200-diode helmet made that covers your front hairline and temple region.

So is everything up to date on the website then? It looks like you can just order the diodes from the link for $3 a piece and get the wires from radio shack. How do you order the helmet?

This was last updated 5 years ago so it kind of makes me nervous

rdkml says that LLLT is better.

Would it make sense to try both? I'd probably start with LLLT. Violet Rays have been around for 100 years and apparantly aren't even made in the US anymore. They aren't easy to find on Amazon or anywhere online.
