My hair is thickening from the Vitamin A again
I don't understand, was I supposed to live in the Antarctic and thrive on seal and polar bear liver to keep my hair? Well it's just an update, the sebum goes away and the hair thickens, I take "only" 30000 IU a day divided in 15000 in the morning and 15000 in the evening. I'm just afraid for my liver .

Maybe it's just correcting a long standing deficiency for the time being? I'd experiment with smaller doses if it worries you. See if you get the same effect.

What type are you taking? Beta carotene?

No, animal form, retinyl palmitate. Well the problem is that I don't get this effect in smaller dosage. The next package I ordered are even 25000 IU a pill. I'll get bloodworks every few months, it's free in Belgium so :p.

Could you be more specific Fred? Are you getting regrowth or the hair shafts you have are thickening? How long have you been on this Vit A?

No regrowth, just thickening and darkening of existing hair .

Congratulations Fred! It's a small success but it's still a success. Keep us posted on developments.

I overlooked the reason why a certain supplement worked for me for more than a year a long time ago and it created a lot of undue pain, so I understand where you're coming from.

any other supplements
Hey Fred! That's great news! I remember you had said that you also take some other supplements too, like vitamin D3 or? Perhaps the results are from the synergistic effect of those two (as they need to be balanced). What else do you think have helped? Or your current regime comprises of only vitamin A?

Hey Fred,
What form are you taking your A as? I'm going to assume the animal form, but are you taking it in cod liver oil? Or the isolated vitamin? Thanks sir. I haven't been taking my cod liver oil in a long time and have definitely noticed my sebum production has increased. But I'm also on some testosterone boosting supps as well so perhaps its a combination of the two.

If vitamin A is so bad, why does it give me such nice non-greasy skin and hair then? I don't understand, if it's considered a side-effect, I'd take it anytime. I take the animal form in capsules. My current regimen is always listed in my signature . All of this is good news prior to my FUE .

Fred may I ask were you requested by the clinic to try & increase the amount of donor hair from the back of your head by using manual techniques?
Glad the Vit A is helping your case.

Re: My hair is thickening from the Vitamin A again
No, clinic don't ask that because I think they believe you can't change your hair state even in the donor area. My hair became stronger and thicker on the sides and back with the help of MSM. Plus I regrew some bald patches. It's all good.
Anthony, I still don't think there are supplements to cure hair loss, my case may be isolated or temporary, I'll see. I want sure, thick and permanent hair on my hairline, hence the FUE, I do no want to gamble on my looks with supplements. My main goal was to never be slick and keep that hairline drawing.

Re: My hair is thickening from the Vitamin A again
I'm actually happy when I see how much hair I've got left in the NW5 area (not much), because they will not patronize me with the shockloss stuff at the clinic and say I'm too young to have a FUE :p. The hairs left are minoxidil survivors I think, as my father was a slick NW5 at 23 . Ow, I have to let my hair grow at least 1 cm before my consultation in two weeks, it will be the worst two weeks of my life .

Re: My hair is thickening from the Vitamin A again
I meant for something that is not even anti-androgenic, of course if you are fed feminizing hormones, you would see your sebum output lowered.
