I've been on Virile Mane for about 4 1/2 months now and can't say I notice any real results. At first I was very disappointed with the product and got off of it for a bit. But after some encouragement from others and some people who saw good results I got back on. I saw some new sprouts by my hairline and was hopeful, but after going through an entire bottle I feel like I actually see more scalp now. The sprouts didn't leave, but I think I've lost overall coverage. Unfortunately, I don't have any way of knowing if this is just the natural progress of my hair loss or if it's the topical.

On the Virile Mane info page http://www.nutraplanet.com/product/rpn/virile-mane-6-oz.html they list their ingredients and make claim to their benefits. However, I know their #2 ingredient, Apple Polyphenol, is something CS has said doesn't actually help growth. So, what of the other ingredients? Opinions? Testimonials?

NewReg,

I've been using it since early November. I did grow sprouts in areas that were thinning and along the hair line, but nothing that makes a cosmetic difference. I'm starting to wonder if those were going to come out no matter what I put on them, but I don't know.

The thing I've noticed from day one with this stuff is it makes your existing hair grow like a weed. There's something in the topical that is promoting "growth", but I can't attest to regrowth. It's like people who claim if they take MSM their existing hair grows extremely fast.

I haven't dropped it yet and am going to give it 6 months to make a determination.

6 months is a good idea for testing supplements and topicals in general. I notice that the Virile Mane formula has a lot of chemical-based compounds, but Raspberry Ketones have some promise, as does L-Carnitine, Tartrate, and Rooibos. Not sure on Apple Polys...seemed they were the rage a while back but sort of fizzled out.
