In Tim Ferris's book, the 4 Hour Body, he says ingesting a fat early in a meal blunts the insulin spike. R-Ala's action is similar. Has anyone stacked these 2 to increase effectiveness?

How fat is metabolized depends on the person, and what other foods are consumed with it. Insulin levels will be affected differently so I'm not so certain this is universal.

I've taken stabilized R-lipoic acid for every meal for several years. All I can say is that it does reduce the impact of insulin. I do not recall what effect it has with coconut oil, however I do know that coconut oil is rich in MCT's or MCFA's, which will raise ketone bodies, and how that affects insulin may change. Ultimately though, the dose of coconut oil can make a lot of determination, and would start very small because the gastrointestinal effects can be miserable.

Cooking with organic virgin Coconut oil has been making me loose weight. Im already low bf so not very ideal to loose any more weight for me.. I also feel like its taking more for me to stay full throughout the day... Pretty annoying.
