Emu oil vs Coconut oil
Do they have the same effects or are there differences when it comes hair loss?

Re: Emu oil vs Coconut oil
I tried coconut oil on my scalp and it just irritated it. Emu oil wasn't like that at all. It actually makes my skin and hair soft.

I can confirm the same. Coconut oil somehow irritated my scalp, it gave me "hair pain" which I interpret as inflammation.
Emu oil on the other side, doesn't bother me at all and seems that it's antiinflammatory action is working on me and . I just started a few days ago, missing only a few times applying it. It's also reducing flaking quite well, almost to the point I barely feel it.
Another good point of Emo Oil is that it has research related to hair growth in contrast with coconut oil AFAIK.

Re: Emu oil vs Coconut oil
Coconut oil is recommended in traditional Indian medicine as a hair loss treatment (there's a seperate thread about that). I believe there are also a few testimonials on iHerb.com about the beneficial effects of this for skin and hair. I'm surprised it caused irritation for you.
I tried emu oil a while back and it seemed to give me a hair growth spurt but this didn't last long. I've heard quite a few good reviews about the stuff though. Laurent Pickart (created Folligen) has a high opinion of it.

Hey guys thanks for the input. I actually started using coconut oil about three days ago. I gotta that i have not experienced any type of irritation thus far. I actually enjoy and the feeling it gives my hair. I replaced it with my olive oil hair lotion oil to style my hair and condition my scalp.
