OT: elevated creatinine
Hi everyone,
My dad's most recent blood test indicated that his creatinine levels were higher than the recommended limit. Creatinine levels are supposed to fluctuate significantly, so a single abnormal reading is not generally considered to be indicative of a problem.
However, my dad has had diabetes and hypertension for many years, and both of these conditions are associated with decreased kidney function. During the last several months he has been complaining about symptoms that are associated with early-stage kidney disease, ie. dizziness/confusion/dehydration.
No diagnosis has been made yet. I'm hoping it turns out to be a non-issue, but I'd like to be proactive about this.
Are there any effective naturopathic treatments for reversing kidney disease?

Re: OT: elevated creatinine
The most important thing is to control the blood pressure and sugar. Whatever treatments you might find to treat the kidney disease, I don't think they would be that helpful in the face of uncontrolled hypertension and diabetes.
Also, what's more important is the creatinine trend over time. A single value near the normal range by itself isn't that helpful.

Thanks crincrin.
Thankfully, it turned out that the lab report was mistaken.
