hmm...don't know what to think...he seems to know what he's talking about but in a way he may be an hypocrite because when I googled "parent essential oils" found http://www.yes-supplements.com/index.htm which may belong to him!

I don't think he owns that site because I don't see anything about PEOs on there, just EFA. There was a thread a while back on PEOs. I definitely think he is on to something. I have never noticed anything from taking fish or cod liver oil, I started taking pumpkin seed oil and noticed skin moisturizing benefits, areas on my face that were extremely dry after showering disappeared.

You are correct, he apparently does sell them. http://www.amazon.com/Yes-Parent-Essential-Oils-Capsules/dp/B001HW4A9C
"Many of our customers refer to Brian Peskin's YESTM EFA's as "liquid gold.""

Hey CS,
In your paradigm shift thread you write:
How much Pumkin seed oil are you taking? Are any brands better than others?
Thanks,
Adam
In your paradigm shift thread you write:
Personally, I've been taking two capsules of Pumpkin seed oil along with one capsule of Multi-EFA's before bed only. During the day, I'll take Krill Oil.

adam2525 - I took a long hiatus taking these unprocessed oils only to experiment and I will probably return to them at some point. At the time I was using a brand that I am not 100% certain was ideal...so would rather make sure that it is something better than what I used.
However, I should say that I recommend some people to take an oil blend and it did help for some inflammatory conditions. As you probably know there has been a lot of talk on here about Ray Peat, which I think is important and great work. However, the fault in it I think is that all of the research Ray Peat has cited on PUFA's is a refined product that is devoid of any benefits (especially because it was either processed or cooked).
Omega-6 when unrefined, organic and uncooked is a very powerful anti-inflammatory. So I found that most people with prostate issues would notice some nice benefits with taking a pumpkin seed oil, even the brand I was using which I am not certain was best. For the record, it was Pumpkin seed oil by Now.

Fish oil supplements are good for health, they doesn’t harm. They give vitamins to fight against health issues.

Does Peat have no views on different forms of Omega 6 (unprocessed vs. the rubbish in most people's diets) or does he just lump them in together without due consideration?
For me, this sums it up nicely:
For me, this sums it up nicely:
Analyses of the plaque that clog arteries shows these bad forms of Omega 6 are major components of the plaque; hence Omega 6 gets the bum rap and that's why so much of the nutritional literature takes this view. Cholesterol in the blood stream delivers the Omega 6 to artery walls where "good" Omega 6 is needed for repair work. But cholesterol doesn't know the difference between the good and bad forms and will dutifully deliver damaged Omega 6 where it forms plaque. This is why cholesterol gets a bad reputation, a "kill the messenger" result, along with Omega 6. Fact is, your body needs cholesterol (especially your brain), as well as both Omega 3 and Omega 6, and when not polluted by damaged components all work together very well to keep you healthy.

Nice quote Columbo.
I believe that Ray Peat relies on the literature which unfortunately only looks at refined Omega-6. They contain trans-isomers before they are used by the customer.
Thanks to Brian Peskin, who lead a study on real humans and unrefined essential fatty acids, there was a nearly 10 year drop in vessel age with just 4-months of use. That is solid evidence that Ray Peat is missing an important piece.
