IH--Natural Sweetener Fructose? Is this okay?
IH --
I found a Whey Isolate that I want to try that claims it has no artificial sweeteners in it but uses "natural sweetener fructose" and I want your opinion on that.
Here's the ingredients list:
Ingredient Details:
100% Cold-Filtered Isolate, Ion Exchanged Whey, Natural Flavors, Natural Sweetener Fructose, Digestive Enzyme Blend (bromelin, papain, protease, peptizyme).
Serving Size (oz) 1
Calories 104
Total Fat (g) 1
Cholesterol (mg) 0
Total Carbs (g) 6
Proteins (g) 20
Should I avoid this product? Is there any hair or health killers in it? I know high fructose corn syrup can elevate triglycerides, but I'm not sure if this form of fructose should be avoided.
Thanks in advance.

hadrion - This one will not hurt hair, especially with the supplements. Only a large supply of fructose without supplements eventually will lead to metabolic syndrome, but there's virtually no chance of that. Fructose does not spike blood sugar and it contains a relatively small amount of glucose. Taken together, most of it is processed via the liver. A chronic ingestion of fructose will eventually compromise the liver and increase oxygen free radicals, leading to metabolic syndrome.
But in a modest amount, it should be totally fine, especially with the supplements.
I know this because I was a voracious consumer of the worst form of fructose for many, many years (HFCS) and while it did create metabolic syndrome, the supplements completely reversed it.
