Itchy/Painful Anus
So I've been to the doctor for this many times.. and was treated with creams for fungus, bacteria, even took pills for worms.. and to no avail did I solve the problem. Basically its like this: there is a pain/itch on my anus... most prominent while walking for long periods of times, or anytime after a bowel movement.. taking a shower helps clean the area and lowers the pain/itchiness. But what can I do to solve this?

may be worth doing an elimination diet to check for wheat/gluten intolerance.

Re: Itchy/Painful Anus
I have had a similar situation that started a little over a month ago, but only with bowel movements and pretty much could say was hemorrhoids, I felt them. After that I was fine, no irritation at any other point of the day. I think it may also be dehydration and lack of electrolytes, as its been HOT and I preety much sweat all day. I started drinking some vitamin water and gatoraide as oppose to just water all day, thats has helped some, I still have alittle irritation but nothing like before.
It could be a gluten/wheat intolerance, I have not tried that yet, but trying to look into it. My lack of knowledge on it I cannot say for sure, but I think if it true will very well change my diet that I have been eating my entire life..

Re: Itchy/Painful Anus
I read somewhere that large doses of vitamin C can cause an itchy anus.

Pretty positive its Hemorrhoids. Apparently the itchiness comes from mucus inside the intestines after a bowel movement.

Re: Itchy/Painful Anus
Ive had hemorrhoids in the past, long ago, and they have gone away.. i have gotten the area checked out recently many times by my doctor, who said it is not hemorrhoids. So I'm still wondering..
As for wheat/gluten.. i've significantly reduced both for a while now, but no real change in this area.
high dose vitamin C is a possibility as I used to superdose on vita c in the past.
hmmm, more thoughts please.

As others suggested, it can easily be caused by supplements, by any. Green tea, curcmin, resveratrol, probiotics, etc.
Stop taking everything 2 o 3 days and see what happens.
If the itchiness persist, it is possible that you have an infection, what the doctor gives you is not necessarily the cure besides they can very easily miss the correct diagnosis.

Re: Itchy/Painful Anus
On top of the above suggestions, if what you have is a topical fungal irritation, I would suggest specifically 1 of the following at a time topically. Internally all can be had, but spread out during the day.
1)Iodine topically, (take internally as well)
2)Topical manuka honey(active at least 24+) (can take internally everyday)
3)Topical coconut oil. (Take 1-3 tablespoons internally daily)
4)Topical activated charcoal(take 1 tablespoon internally in a big glass of water)
Sitz bathes. Sit in cold water for a few minutes, then alternate to warm water. Do this at least 3 times.
A colonic irrigation (follow with plenty of probiotics afterwards).

I dont know about painful anus, but itchy can be treated very well by adding 2-3 drops tea tree oil to soap
in your hand and then rub it around and in and leave it there for couple of minutes, then rinse.

Fwiw, itching may also mean intestinal worms. It can't harm to get a sample tested.

Re: Itchy/Painful Anus
Oh I just gotta get in on this! Questions: Do you drink alcohol regularly--especially beer or wine? I ask b/c my boyfriend gets itchy anus when he drinks beer too often--it happens because he gets yeasty. Some beers are worse then other for him too--a few of these microbrews have weird ingredients that can trigger reactions as well. I have experienced anal itch myself at times from drinking too much wine. Did you find any relief, even if temporarily, when you used the antifungal cream? External antifungals will only help so much when you have yeast that are alive and well in your gut.

Re: Itchy/Painful Anus
Its caused from an overload toxins being expelled by the body but the body cannot clean it up IMO. A Coffee Enema will clear it right away. This is a good sign, I assume your cleansing your body in some way? I got this a lot when I went through Humaworm. Try and force a bowel movement every time it itches to get the toxins out before they potentially reabsorb back into the body. A good bowel movement will stop the itch.

Re: Itchy/Painful Anus
Hemorrhoids indeed, anti-inflammatory sups and a better diet should do the trick, well at least it did for me .
