Theory about bitemporal recession and frontal hair loss Empty Theory about bitemporal recession and frontal hair loss

It seems like regrowth on the temples is the most challenging for most of us. I have a theory to throw out there:

This excerpt is from a medical textbook called "Skull base and related structures: atlas of clinical anatomy."

The epidermis of the skin is relatively thin in the temporal region. It consists of 4-5 cell layers which are covered by a thin horny layer. Only occasionally do connective tissue papillae of the corium extend into the epidermis. The corium or dermis is about 1.5 mm thick and consists of collagenous and elastic fibers, as in other regions of the scalp. It contains numerous hair follicles, sebaceous glands and occasionally also sweat glands. The amount of subcutaneous fatt tissue in the temporal regions is of variable thickness. It is generally somewhat thicker over the zygomatic process than further cranially, where the fatty layer was found to be only 1.5 mm thick in normotrophic adults according to our studies. The hair follicles extend into this fatty layer which is also traversed by strong retinuculae. In the region of the superior temporal line, the thickness of the scalp was 6.15mm in our material.

Perhaps bitemporal recession is caused by the fact that skin is thinner in these regions. This makes topical emu oil an interesting option to try in the frontal region, since it's been shown to increase skin thickness.

Michael Hollick, MD, Ph.D., Professor of Medicine, Physiology, and Dermatology at Boston University School of Medicine conducted a study involving emu oil and hair growth. His study found that there was a 20% increase in growth activity of skin that received emu oil, compared to skin that received corn oil. Looking at the hair follicles, Dr. Hollick realized they were much more robust, the skin thickness was remarkably increased, suggesting that emu oil stimulated skin growth and hair growth. Additionally, the study showed that over 80% of hair follicles that had been "asleep" were woken up, and began growing. This is what emu oil may do for you!

Has anyone experienced success with emu oil along the hairline? LA-Night said he had some success with it.

You need to stop hairloss, the hair that survived will regrow automatically. Topicals etc. aimed at regrowth only fasten the process......
