Increasing HL by increasing cardio time at the gym?
Just wanted to check if this happens To anyone else.. If I stick to weights I loose a bit but as soon as I step it up, more cardio, totally sweating (including scalp) I loose strands after the shower like crazy!!!!
Why does this happens? (how much more HL can limit my life???)
I should enphasize that it was 5 years ago after becoming almost pro at the gym that I lost three quarters of all my hair.
any answer is greatly appreciated.

Probably a scalp infection. Sweating feeds it. I'd go to a dermatologist if I were you.

I would have to disagree with the scalp infection... But it could always be a possibility... Cardio and weight training both will increase your hair-loss because usually with weight training comes higher androgen levels and more carbohydrate intake... Both disastrous for hair-loss
I experienced the same thing when I weight train... Opposite when doing cardio...

Re: Increasing HL by increasing cardio time at the gym?
Actually I just have to make a very clear distinction:
- If I do cardio with all the sweat the HL rises exponentially.
- If I just do weight training (without increasing heart rate, without massive water loss) I don't.
Any more thoughts?

What do you mean without massive water loss? You mean excessive sweating? I mean honestly the guy above could be right... If you are seriously losing only after cardio try talking to someone but...
Re: Increasing HL by increasing cardio time at the gym?
My scalp actually feels better but I think its because I'm eating better why going to the gym.
What happens though?...
Testosterone goes up when doing weights...but this is suppose to be a good thing right?
Cortisol goes up after about 45mins or so...so keep your sessions short and just be in and out...
Long cardio workouts actually increase cortisol and lower testosterone which is bad so I prefer to do 20mins HIIT
Eating wise...stick with low GI carbs like brown rice, buckwheat, quinoa to keep insulin levels steady.
On a side note...tell me if I'm wrong but I've always thought...that if you can keep estrogen low and Testosterone high...DHT will remain low. DHT only rises to compensate against estrogen when testosterone levels are low???
