whip - Thanks for those links. I've seen most of those, but never knew about that patent.
Have you seen this study?

Re: Some links for CS
Thanks for that CS.
2cm linear wound.
Totally stumbled on this recently.
APIS/BEE VENOM
"There have been scores of in vivo studies on the actions of Apis, primarily in China and Korea. There are a number of mechanisms of action. Researchers have found that apis:
1) inhibits inflammation mediator generation by suppression of NF-kB
(similarly to resveratrol).
2) alleviates thermal hyperalgesia through activating alpha2-drenoreceptors.
3) increases Fos expression in catecholaminergic neurons.
4) attenuates formalin-induced pain behavior and sinal cord fos expression.
5) reverses lipopolysaccharide-induced upregulation of such genes as IL-6
receptor, matrix metalloproteinase 15, tumor necrosis factor (ligand)
superfamily-10, capase-6, and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1.
6) inhibits COX-2 activity and proinflammatory cytokines TNF-alpha and IL-1beta.
7) binds to secretory phospholipase A2 and inhibits its enzymatic activity.
modulates alpha 1-acid glycoprotein gene induction.
9) blocks neutrophil O2 production.
10) directly affects the production of IL-1 by macrophages, indirectly inhibits T and B
cell activation.
11) is effective (as numerous in vivo studies have found) in the treatment of various
forms of arthritis, including type II, collagen-induced."
http://www.gaianstudies.org/articles9.htm
This was in a totally unrelated compound I tried recently as I noticed improved hair quality and believe this ingredient to possibly be the reason
Ligustrum
"Ligustrum has been shown in animal studies to inhibit lipopolysaccharide-induced tumor necrosis factor TNF-alpha production, regulate lipid metabolism, increase the activity of antioxidant enzymes and modulate glucose levels 18-20."

Whip, you're on the ball man, great stuff!
All of this stuff if going to go a long way in the future to complete regrowths, if something doesn't come along sooner.

Re: Some links for CS
Thanks A/R, really easy and thorough summary of the wound healing deal for easy reference. Nothing new, but easy on the links and the computer if you need it.
http://www.ask.com/wiki/Wound_healing
But of course you know I can't just post one link... so,
"One of the major phenotypes of the MRL mouse is a potent remodeling response with the absence or a reduced level of scarring. MRL healing is associated with the upregulation of the metalloproteinases MMP-2 and MMP-9 and the downregulation of their inhibitors TIMP-2 and TIMP-3, both present in inflammatory cells such as neutrophils and macrophages."
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/14594211?dopt=Abstract
"In contrast, mammalian fibroblasts form scars rather than a blueprint for regeneration. Fibroblasts do not form scars in salamander limb wounds."

Re: Some links for CS
Hey Whip.
Yeah, Salamanders ability to heal is absolutely fascinating and was a huge part of Becker's work, he found a really interesting dynamic that CS will be interested in too, that there's a clear pattern showing that the lower a species ability to regenerate is the higher their cancer rates are - Becker also started work that shown promise as an anti cancer treatment, almost as a way of dedifferentiating cancer cells using similar methods of stem cell production. Mind you he also found that if done recklessly you could stimulate more mitosis from cancer cells.
More importantly to us though, is that Becker's work is basically using electric stimulation to recreate the biological processes that take place in salamander regeneration, as shown in the chapter "Good news for Mammals" of the Body Electric.

sorry to bump this, but are you kidding me?
"6) inhibits COX-2 activity and proinflammatory cytokines TNF-alpha and IL-1beta."
I hope it's right but I don't think it is. Would that support Histogen's recent results?
