How to safely use natural antiviral/antibiotic supplements?

I have a throat virus and was thinking about using MMS to help get rid of it. Does it need to be taken for a certain amount of time, like antibiotics, to make sure the virus/bacteria is fully killed off and doesn't mutate or become resistant? Same question for all other antibacterial/fungal/viral supplements (GFSE, neem, colloidal silver), or can you just stop when you feel it has done the job?

Also what are the best alternatives to antibiotics when you feel a sickness coming on? I've seen EGCG recommended most as an immune system booster, is there anything else that's helpful to take right when you feel like you're getting sick?

Best natural alternatives are iodine, collodial silver and gold, vitamin D3, obviously vitamin C and lysine... also 5mg of naltrexone taken before bedtime.
