Hyperhidrosis
I have benefited from advice on hairloss from this site and was wondering if anyone can help me with hyperhidrosis. I work with a women who has a daughter that has suffered from this condition in her hands and feet her whole life. My daughter used to babysit her when she was younger and she is a sweet child. She is now a teenager and this is crippling her socially. I was just wondering if anything could help her aside from major surgery which her mother has researched. Thanks in advance.

Re: Hyperhidrosis
Believe it or not it is most likely due to an adrenal issue. I didn't think so myself at first until I tried an adrenal tonic formula and had zero palm and feet sweating.

Zerx, I have suspected I have a thyroid and adrenal problem, which specific adrenal tonic did you use that helped the condition?

Even though I'm considering and will try to see if New Chapter Holy Basil might be better.

Is it the basil that helps the adrenals?
As I'm from UK I need to try keep orders until £18 or I get loads of extra added costs, the Gaia Herbs would be too expensive but the New Chapter ones wouldn't, why do you think the New Chapter ones would be better?

I'm pretty sure from doing a bit of research and reading the reviews that it's mainly the holy basil in the gaia product that is great for the adrenals. And the New Chapter product has more beneficial extracts and a significantly higher amount. And to top it off, it's cheaper.

Re: Hyperhidrosis
Have you ever tried an adrenal glandular or something like that?
Can CS or anyone tell me if any of these are good for repairing and helping the adrenals.

Re: Hyperhidrosis
I tried Nutricology adrenal cortex before and the Gaia product was way better than it. The Nutricology product was the best of the few adrenal gland supps I tried by the way.

Re: Hyperhidrosis
I've read you shouldn't use adrenal glandulars for more than 2 weeks without taking a break, so your adrenals don't atrophy apparently. Does anyone know if this is true? Is holy basil a glandular?
Has anyone true used ashwaganda, licorice root or maca successfully to help restore adrenals?

Holy basil is not a glandular, it's an herb. I believe that you'll benefit alot from it.

Re: Hyperhidrosis
Is there any risk or problem in treating the thyroid before adrenals?
I want to possibly take ashwaganda and holy basil to help adrenals and lower high cortisol. I don't want to fork out $160 or whatever for a cortisol test, is there any risk in taking them without having high cortisol?

Re: Hyperhidrosis
Adrenals must be in good order before starting on the thyroid. I've never had any good results on ashwaganda so it's upto you; maybe it works for you. Im pretty sure there are other ways of finding out if your cortisol is too high.

Re: Hyperhidrosis
I often feel a bit anxious and upset for no reason, a while back (less than a year) I couldn't leave the house for a week with an extremely tight throat and felt like I was in permanent "fight or flight" mode, even when just sitting down doing nothing. Would this suggest high cortisol?
Is holy basil balancing cortisol, or specifically lowering cortisol? If my adrenals/cortisol are fine and I take is, is there any risk to that?

Holy basil is perfect for what you are talking about here. I believe there aren't any negatives to holy basil, one of the best adaptogenic herbs.

Re: Hyperhidrosis
Hey zerx,
I wondered if you could help give me some help on what makes a good holy basil supp if you know? I've not got a great deal of money at the moment and think the new chapter holy basil is too pricey for me, I've found these 2 alternatives which look okay. Will they be good enough and which would be better? Thanks.
Alternatives I have considered are the Now Foods Holy Basil Extract
(http://www.iherb.com/Now-Foods-Holy-Basil-Extract-500-mg-90-Vcaps/640?at=0)
the second is the Source Naturals Holy Basil Extract

Re: Hyperhidrosis
They are both basically equal in terms of the content per capsule of the ursolic acid. The Source Naturals one is of better value since it has 120 compared to 90 caps.
