Nid,
You're right that eating out- even fast food is more expensive, but you cannot disagree with the fact that if you really want to eat healthy- meaning organic, gluten free, chemical/toxin/artificial chemical free; those items that you have to mostly find and specialty health food stores are in fact much more expensive than their everyday grocery store counterpart- cheap stuff (that may be healthier from an overall diet aspect compared to other cheap store bought food- yes). So comparing McDonald's (eating out) to home bough groceries was apples to oranges, but when comparing apples to organic apples literally and metaphorically... if you are suggestingthat the costs are the same that is just factually incorrect. I used to work at one of those "specialty" grocery stores for 2 years as a cashier. So I know the prices, and I know how they compare to Vons, Walmart, Safeway, or whatever everyday runof the mill grocery store you shop at. You may be able to find a very very small selection of healthier alternatives at the major grocery chains but I'm sure that you know that they are far and few in between, and your diet would be dietary options/variety would be severely restricted were you to live off those very scarce products in those stores.

I apologize, after googling Hal Turner, i don't believe this guy is credible. However, there is a plan for NAU (Security and Prosperity Partnership). That is definitely real. Again sorry.

Good--
Ya man, that is pretty old stuff on Hal. He made a good profit off of it though, hehe. And, the NAU is a real thing...
JH--
I worked at a grocery store as a cashier and maintenance for about 5 years as well, so I definitely know what you're talking about. Local farm veggies are often organic and you can always ask them. It's the real big farms that usually rely on chemicals to keep up with what they're contracted to produce each year. That said, you don't *have* to eat organic as much as you have to just stop eating crap. And, by you, I just mean people in general and not you, hehe.

Re: Health insurance in America is a joke- anyone else pissed off!
This is my favorite sentence from this whole discussion:
"I absolutely will fight to the death to defend your right to be a lazy slob if you chose, but I just as steadfastly refuse to pay for the consequences of those choices." - EIC
To me, this could not have been better, more straightforwardly stated. I hope that that sentence by itself would be thoroughly convincing to most Americans at face value. If not, I am frightened for the future of our nation.

Project: JS - Generally I am an optimist, but my personal take on this is, we are already in a socialist country.
Through gradualism, or what is also called Fabian socialism, whereby subtle changes are made over a long period of time.
There's quite a difference today between JFK and the Neo-Democrats, just as there is a big difference between old conservatives and Neo-Conservatives.
If things ever really get bad by whatever definition or what is relative to anyone, there's this site:

I sure hope the pendulum starts to swing in the other direction.

Wow,
I love you guys but is anybody on this even left of center. LOL for the love of god!! I know Democrats have a habit of being pussies and not standing up...but holy Mary mother of Obama!! Would someone grow some balls and stop letting me get gang raped here!! I never knew you righties were so health conscious LOL. We will see what the American people have decided tomorrow. Until someone else grows a pair I retreat before I get sent on a hunting trip with Cheney. Nothing says hairloss like lead poisoning from buckshot to the face. If Obama wins tomorrow, I will have to take a couple week hiatus from here because there are gonna be some angry ass people. Would those of you bitch asses reading this who are even center at this point stand up for your convictions. You wonder why Democrats have lost so many elections they should have won....and one they actualy DID! No balls! It is statistically impossible that I am the only person in here who is not on the right (the direction) end of the political spectrum. I feel like Al Sharpton at a KKK meeting, or Mel Gibson in Conspiracy Theory- Now free on blue ray with a purchase of a Hoggie helmet while supplies last. (restrictions may apply)

LOL, well as for me I'm a Libertarian which in my view means get the government out of my life in all directions.
I think Obama has this election easily. I was one of those Ron Paul supporters so whatever anyone wants.

CS,
Because people like to oversimplify complex things and ideologies I figure that I might as well do it once just to say I did before I die. So here it is :
In a sesame street, school for the gifted, jessica simpson-esque, george bush, life goes on, "I'm not a smart man but I know what love is" type way of looking at things...
To quote some: "Democrats want larger/more government, and republicans want less/smaller" dee dee dee
Given that simplistic black and white view of the world premise, would that not put you- just based on what you said about no government (pretending you didn't say Libertarian- for the sake of being lectured by others here about what a libertarian is like I'm some kind of drooling idiot without access to Google in the extreme scenario that I didn't already know) to the right of republican, seeing as the size of government is inversely correlated as you move from left to right along the political spectrum. If the right wants as little government as possible and you are for none(?), would that not put you just extremely right? Just like being the communist that I am- I am left of left? Listen people...don't hate....you like red states and red meat....I like red laces...can't we all just get along?

JHarsh80 - I agree, seems like everything is subject to oversimplification. I know that there's no way on earth that my ideas or anyone else will ever get their way, so I hope that we can get at least the closest to the middle as possible.
Re: Health insurance in America is a joke- anyone else pissed off!
Well even though im Australian I've followed the presidential campaign very closely for about a year and im proudly an obama supporter. Now obama obviously isn't perfect, but he is inconcievably more fit by character, principle and judgment alone to be president then McCain....And holy fuck..dare i even mention sarah palin. It is my belief that obama will help america back in the direction it needs to be, serve two terms as president, and go down as being one of the most beneficial presidents america has ever had, though of course I could be totally wrong. I have witnessed the insight and depth of perception this man has displayed in absorbing the world and giving positively back to it. He has proven to me (that even though an exellent politician), he is an honest seeker of Truth, listner and a positive pragmatic achiever. Although most importantly it's such a breath of fresh air to finally finally be finished with that fucked witted puppet bush and his puppeteer cheney, atleast that's something everyone can agree on.

Intelligent, informed people tend to be Ron Paul supporters.
Unfortunately, Boobus Americanus outnumbers the intelligent and informed by at least 10 to 1.

Scottyc33 I tend to agree. Even though Im for Obama, Ron paul would get my vote otherwise.

The issue with Obama is that he has great rhetoric, but the actions that he has done throughout his life reveal his character, and it is quite ugly. Personally, I'm more motivated to vote for my local representatives or rather, to vote them out.

Re: Health insurance in America is a joke- anyone else pissed off!
According to some non-partisian studies Ive read most people at their core are closer to libertarian than anything else. Its just that as a matter of getting elected - its is very difficult to run on a platform of reduction of services and programs. Its also very difficult to raise money - special interest groups across the board are against anything that would threaten their preferred government program/service, and certainly libertarian candidates are going to prevent special interest type programs from growing.
Additionally on the surface the librtarian candidate offers nothing - or even a reduction in services. So from a rhetorical stand point the candidate that offers to expand government most is going to be at a strong advantage. This is even more pronounced if the constituants are uniformed. Ive seen in my own life that the comfortable people become with dealing with reality the more independent-minded and libertrian they will lean.
