Prostate issues
What are the most typical signs of decreased prostate health/function and would this in any way relate to genetic balding?

Re: Prostate issues
Misirlou - Prostate diseases are usually caused by a variety of factors, but mainly results from an accumulation of lead and other metals. A deficiency of Zinc, Selenium, Magnesium and Omega-3 fatty acids. Also a lack of ejaculation can store up toxins in the prostate, so a lack of sex is bad for the prostate.
The only links to balding would be a casual association between low Omega-3, low Zinc, high estrogen, lower testosterone levels (in older men) and elevated prolactin levels.

Re: Prostate issues
Do you know of any good way to improve prostate health and also hair at the same time? What would a decreased prostate function result in?

Re: Prostate issues
Misirlou - Minerals Selenium, Zinc, and Magnesium are important to maintain prostate health. Omega-3 fatty acid is important as well.
Many prostate diseases are vastly improved with suppository chelation, which binds to metals like lead in the prostate. Everything from enlarged prostate, to inflammation of the prostate to even prostate cancer are often in part result from these metal accumulations.
This product here is an example of that:

Also as mentioned previously that frequent ejaculation is a way to get rid of toxic debris in the prostate. Since estrogen levels rise as men age, if it gets out of control can enlarge the tissue. Iodine can prevent unmitigated cell growth caused by estrogen.

Re: Prostate issues
Misirlou - I think the basic regimen and those minerals mentioned is a good way to maintain prostate health. If you're not contaminated with any metals now, the antioxidants have a chelating effect to keep them from doing damage.

But doesn't ejaculation also raise cortiosol level?

Re: Prostate issues
Espio - Sure, but short term cortisol isn't all that bad--only chronic, long term rises in cortisol.
Re: Prostate issues
So long term stress will cause a lot more damage to hair than jacking off or having a soda a day?

Re: Prostate issues
Espio - Absolutely, long term stress is far worse any than anything that results from ejaculation or a soda a day.
