CS: Immune System... Empty CS: Immune System...

CS,

Beating my mycology problem with sheer numbers of probioitics works initially but results are not lasting. Maybe the problem lies in my immune system which is not fighting these infections. I have some Lactobacillus GG and colostrum arriving in the mail and research shows these are very potent in regards to the immune system. Wondering if you have any other advice?

Thanks

isaac

isaac - Sounds like you're doing the right thing. Selecting the correct probiotic can be a trial and error process. I've been taking colostrum lately and am quite pleased with it. It's an excellent addition for probiotic enhancement.

Someone just gave me a bottle of colostrum, so I'll start taking it too.

Do you take colostrum on an empty stomach?

So I'm looking for some colostrum to try out. I was thinking of getting eithe Nutricology's Laktoferrin, Symbiotics or Now Foods Super Colostrum.

Here are my issues: There's a very small qty of actual colostrum in th Nutricology, but I wnated to try lactoferrin too

Symbyotics has a gelatin capsule which I don't like

Now Foods has maltodextrin. I see maltodextrin in a ton of probiotic brands and it keeps me from taking them. I don't remember specifics, but I decided against ingesting any maltodextrin a while back. Can't remember why, but I've stck to it.

CS- What do you think about these brands and what's my best bet? Plus what's your take on maltodextrin?

Yanks - Symbiotics bovine colostrum is far and away the best selection.

I don't see gelatin as a real negative, but then again, I'm not extremely gluten sensitive either.

Not too concerned with a relatively small amount of maltodextrin.

I'm planning on writing an article on bovine colostrum, because there is a lot of information about it that may have good applications to health. One of them is thymic involution, which can be reversed using a good quality bovine colostrum product. Thymic involution is a causitive factor in hair loss.

I always thought ingesting maltodextrin found in a pill would be counterproductive. I'll go with the Symbiotics then.

The focus seems to be on colostrum, but for serious immune boosting activity I highly recommend Reishi Gano 161. After getting the terrain in proper order with pro and pre biotics, mushrooms are an essential immunity teacher. They bestow a certain intelligence that other supplements cannot match.
