Resources on the Immune system
Any recommendations on books, websites, articles, etc on how the immune system works and how to optimize it?

Re: Resources on the Immune system
Bump.Ill second this and some more light on auto-immune diseases as hair-loss is partly considered an auto-immune problem.I see that inflammation triggers the immune system but would like some more insight.

Re: Resources on the Immune system
I do think improving immune function is about having the right microbes in the body defences systems and low toxicity profile in the body. Despite this is the simple statement the underlying complexity in making things aligned with the primal design in the modern world is far from simple. It is even more complicated if you start trust wrong people in white coats on what might be wrong with you.
Autoimmunity is I believe one of the main triggers behind the hair loss puzzle. There are special cases where acute toxicity can exaggerate immune response which in turn can harm the immune signalling pathways that start to behave as it is of human tissue is as from pathogenic origin. The other pathways are also via immunizations. Those with allergy profiles are especially prone to later health disasters experiences on acute, but also long term basis.
That said, fixing immune system is to generic approach, one wants to focus on his particular weaknesses, first identifying those and target it via the approach or removing the triggers, and do this consistently enough to attenuate the signal as it is non existing.
Focus on the immune system is giving immune system powers via nutrients, but also fixing pathologies underlying the following systems and more:
1. Dental pathology systems,
2. Gut and digestive system,
3. Food allergy segments,
4. Energy support systems as mitochondrial health, thyroid, adrenal...
5. Circadian biology-related systems,
the list is I believe quite endless, as soon or later you realize topics are interrelated with ''health''...
For example:
Metabolic syndrome does not cause the autoimmune disease per definition, it is, however, one of the underlying triggers for the bad response to food intake, which can already do all the work in feeding the bad bugs, resulting in dysbiosis that evolves in various pathology. Some infections as the bugs take over will provoke autoimmune reactions as for example.

One thing is for sure, regardless of the budget and testing, one that is not willing to experiment to find causes and experiment further to find elimination pathways that might be individual is prone to failure.

Thanks Zaphod, the summary does help in targeting different areas for someone like me who still needs to research.
