LLLT/Laser Blood Irradiation will increase catalase in the body.

jdp710 - Since catalase is involved in protecting against hydrogen perioxide, I would imagine that lasers will help slow down the onset of graying hair.

Have you heard any feedback on lasers in that regard?

Hey CausticSymmetry,

Yup, there are a few of us "laser heads" that have noticed this, lol. There is also a couple laser clinics online mentioning LLLT as a treatment for gray hair so appears they've noticed the same.

Me personally, I had dozens of gray hairs before I started LLLT. Not anymore. So not only can it prevent gray hair, but in some cases looks like it will even reverse gray hair. Those gray hairs on me weren't there longer than a couple years though so no clue if it can reverse gray hair after many years of being gray.

Also, back in '08 when LLLT started off there were quite a few people mention how much darker their hair looked. Same happened to me.

Actually, I believe LLLT works better for gray hair than it works for hair loss.

With all that said, when I used LLLT and noticed reversal of gray hair I was also using topical coconut oil which also helps with gray hair. Also, I was using topical magnesium chloride on my scalp which should also help. I've also taken Iodine as well .... thyroid.

Here is one study on magnesium and catalase

Here's OMG's blog about his experience with gray hair

http://www.overmachogrande.com/index.php?/omg/personal_notes/noticeable_reduction_of_gray_hair/

another testimonial

"less gray hair; weirdly I have had this small patch of white hair in my one side-burn for ages now (10 years?), which has gone. I did not have much much gray hair before, just now do not see it at all now." http://www.hairlossfight.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1744

JDP - I may be being ignorant.... but whats sv40??
The reason i am asking about raising catalase is because i want to slow down the greying hair process. I have been doing quite a bit of research lately on grey hair and vitiligo - it seems to me at least there are very similar processes involved.
Would whey protein be a good supplement to take to raise catalase?

JDP- what length of time is required for lllt to optimally raise catalase levels? 10 - 20 min per sitting?

Regarding time, I'm not sure there is a study out there comparing treatment times regarding catalase. However, my guess is 5 or more joules. 5 joules with an OMG helmet = about 20 minutes or a couple minutes more.

The reason why I'm guessing 5 joules + is based on what's in bold on this thread http://www.worldhairloss.org/index.php/forums/viewthread/18/

Regarding SV40, SV40 is in short a virus that causes cancer and/or tumors. It's said 61% of new cancers are infected with SV40. Appears somewhere around 45% of everyone is infected with SV40 and is transmitted through semen, blood, etc.. Not sure if those numbers are accurate but either was SV40 is very alarming.

Regarding gray hair, I did a bunch of research into most effective solutions and my money is on LLLT, topical magnesium chloride and topical coconut oil. Also, monitor thyroid.

I should also mention, magnesium chloride needs to be removed before it starts to dry. Otherwise will dry out skin.

hope this helps

jdp701 - Thanks for the info about the gray hair, that's one of those little mentioned benefits of LLLT.
