Laser Combs?
I was curious if anyone actually ended up trying this on their thinning hair. It seems to be really mixed in regards to results. Thanks.

Re: Laser Combs?
Lasercombs are not worth your time or money.
Instead go for the Laser Helmet. Laser Messiah.
OMG can build one for you, or you can make it yourself:

Dave228 - jdp710 knows more about laser therapy than most people on the planet. Check out some of his posts on it. Yes, he and many others use laser helmets with success.

CS: I would really want to find out why you don't use lasers..I know you've "saved it all already", but hey..spit it out, you don't believe in lasers, right?

If I'm correct, I've seen OMG undertook some hair transplant I believe sometime in recent past. So
you can answer yourself about laser helmet hair regrowth capabilities.
And my answer to another question for CS by Misirlou - in my own experience, unfortunatelly not. And if it would, there will be nobody on this forum.

Re: Laser Combs?
A 200 diode laser helmet will cost about $750, if you complete the wiring. This includes the foam helmet from OMG, diodes, wire, power supply, glue and wire connectors.
As for efficacy, it really depends on the individual. My experience was not great. I used the device for 4 months and did not notice any new growth, nor was I able to maintain. My hair continued to shed and decline.

Re: Laser Combs?
In sometime in the future I will be getting one. I had the opportunity some months ago to use an OMG helmet, called the Laser Messiah just once, as I visited someone who had purchased one from OMG. My finances are very limited.
The pricing depends on how many diodes you need or desire. Contact OMG here: lasermessiah@lasermessiah.com
The only experience I have on laser helmets is that one time, so it's not enough to give much of any info about them. I have worked with another type of laser professionally with different wave lengths for entirely different purposes (ulcers necrosis in the extremities). I believe they work, because the evidence is there and I've seen it.
Of course when it comes to hair loss, the idea is to address every angle, and this forum in particular is aimed to target the cause and of course treat it when the cause is unknown. Lasers is one of those options.
Virtually every known cause of hair loss has probably been touched on in this forum--there's a lot of read to figure it all out.
When OMG used his laser helmet after this third transplant, it advanced the healing process and presented an immunologic protection on the new hairs, allowing improved survivabilty, adaptability compared to his two previous transplants that took place before any use of lasers.
So in other words, OMG's laser helmet, stop his hair loss cold.

Re: Laser Combs?
I will add that OMG laser helmet stopped my hairloss cold and gave me regrowth. I then tried the internal regime bc I had various health problems. Now the heath problems are gone and my hair loss is stopped, but I will still use the helmet occasionally.

Re: Laser Combs?
1... How long did it take for you to see results? Did you use the helmet for the recommended 20 minutes 3 times per week?
Thanks,

1.... Thanks for the reply. I am thinning at the hairline and mid-scalp area. Have you had any regrowth in those areas?

Re: Laser Combs?
OK. Perhaps I need to try it again. I stopped due to increased shedding after the third month of use. Of course there could be many other factors which caused the shedding, but since I had not changed my regimen immediately paced the blame on LLLT. I've read that others had also experienced an increase in shedding on other forums, which gave me more reason to stop. This was back in July, 09.
I hope don't mind if I ask you some more questions regarding your experience?
1. Do you usually feel a tightness of your scalp after treatment? It's difficult to describe, but it feels a bit like the skin on your scalp shrank a bit.
2. During treatment, do you feel a slight burning, or rather tingling sensation?
3. During treatment, do you feel heat? I know this is cold laser technology, but it still feels a bit warm at the scalp, although the diodes do not feel hot to the touch.
4. Did you wire the helmet yourself, if so, did you use butt connectors, or solder to terminate the wires?
Thanks again for your help.
John
