Supplements for Arthritis and for eyesight/cataracts?
What are the best supplements for arthritis, specifically the hands and shoulders?
And also, what are the best supplements for eyesight/cataracts?
Best supplements for prostate?
I am getting my father on most of IH supplements, not just the top 6. Any specific/general recommendations for a man in his early 60's to start feeling/looking younger, prevent cancer (specifically skin and prostate), and maintain cognitive function?
Any of IH's supplements or supplements in general for a man in his 60's to avoid?
Any input or personal experiences are appreciated.

Re: Supplements for Arthritis and for eyesight/cataracts?
I've had three major knee operations due to sports injuries. Although I continue to work out and play sports, when I
play "back to back" (several days in a row) I really feel the pain from incipieant arthritis. One day I found a Tumeric/Bromelain (Natural Factors) combo at I-herb and ordered it. It has made a HUGE difference. Before, if
I knew I was in a two day tournament, I'd have to take Celebrex (plus several Advil) in order to compete the 2nd day.
The Natural Factors combo has elimated the nedd to do this.
Check out the reviews on i-herb.

OK, thanks everyone - I ordered both recommendations and most of IH's supplements. Hope they improve the health and longevity of my father.

For the eyes there are carnosin eyedrops, which are claimed for healing mild cases of cataract.

Would Boswellia, Glucosamine & Chondroitin help with arthritis?

goten574 - They are usually helpful, but should mention that arthritis means something is wrong inside, and usually there is a depressed phosphate level (too much sugar/fruit could be the reason).

I ask because my mother has it in both knees and can hardly walk without pain. What should she do? she is too young for knee replacement surgery

goten574 - Load her up on Hyaluronic acid (double strength), and have her take at least two of these per day.

Never heard of Hyaluronic acid, so this would be better than the 3 things I mentioned? How about this?

goten574 - This is the right stuff. With enough of this, no hip replacement will be necessary.

It is not hip, it's knee lol
How many capsules do you think is needed to see results? and is this an ongoing treatment? or would this permanently fix the condition?

goten574 - I meant knee, LOL!
The dose depends on the person, but replacement can be avoided. If there is pronounced inflammation in the knees, cutting down on sugar will help.
Have her make sure that her vitamin D is optimized too, this will help greatly.

she takes a multivitamin that has just 400IU of Vit D3 so maybe I will suggest to her to take a separate D3 supplement. She takes 1500mg of MSM daily which I hear could help.
thanks for your help btw
