I really hope this doesn't pass, the last thing we need is a Rx for vitamin C or something ridiculous.

Signed and passed it on to just about everyone I know. It's stuff like this that truly scares me.

On a side note, I cant imagine the weightlifting/bodybuilding communities are too happy about this either. Hopefully theres sufficient public opposition to this bill.

Does it seem to anyone else that the more government gets involved with things the worse the outcome becomes - usually for everyone, including so-called beneficiaries? I can think of very few exceptions to this.

It seems to me that in the last 50 years increased government corruption, mismanagement and improper oversight as well as just an increase in the scope of government in general, likely would've wrecked our nation's economy if it wasn't for the significant improvements made to efficiency and technology due chiefly to the free market over the same period. Am I missing something here?

I highly doubt this would ever pass. The backlash would be far too great and far too many people would be affected financially. This is something that is too much for even big pharma to chew. if they tried I dare say they would come out worse for wear. The natural health industry covers more than just a small niche market. It encompasses a broad spectrum of society which in the end is why it would never work. Far too many people would band together. The body builders would go crazy, but so would the beauty conscious mothers, the athletes, the models etc etc Imagine the riot

Project: JS - Totally agree, for instance, the FDA has been around longer than a 100 years (they were called something else then), and they've been corrupt from almost day 1. I always like to say that government is the root of all evil, at least in America. Some countries seem to have a more responsible government.

All I know is, every time the government gets involved prices rise, and new quagmires are created, creating complexity of complexity.

Tuitions, real estate, energy - massive government interventions and massive increases in prices.

Not to mention persistent inflation across the board - which is entirely a MONETARY phenomenon due solely to the fraudulent "Federal" Reserve's counterfeiting scheme, but that's another story...

scottyc33 - Agreed, that's a whole other sinister and diabolical thing happening. The interesting thing is that the other world currencies are tied to this sinking ship, making it a global meltdown--I wonder how this will play out after the dollar is shrunk to less than a cent (it's currently worth about 3 cents compared to what it was in 1913).

Ive notified my representatives of what I think of this bull crap. We need to push back on this bill because the FDA is chomping at the bit for more power to abuse. Our access to supplements would certainly be endangered if they have their way. We have to stand against it!
