I'm amazed how people still think that baldness comes from the mother's father only.

Es. that can be true though can't it?
If i had to pick a side of my family that was bald i would probably pick my fathers side over my mothers side of the family..
The trait can come be inherited from either side of the family, but it's the hair gene have a greater chance being inherited from the mothers side of the family?
