Re: lysine please advise
If I remember correctly, the lysine was used to increase iron levels for the women.
Lysine for us would be used in combination with Vitamin C/ascorbic acid as a way of lowering Lp (a) levels which are elevated in MPB sufferers which in turn should help with DKK-1. There are other ways of lowering Lp (a) levels and a lot of the supplements and diet that is discussed here everyday would help.
But to answer your question I really like topical Lysine.
Here are Dr. Rath's free ebooks for anyone interersted

Re: lysine please advise
Sorry bocor with Thanksgiving over here, I just noticed your reply.
To answer your question I put about 1/2 tablespoon mixed with a little bit of water, stir until it dissolves and then apply to my hair and keep on for about 20 minutes before my shower. Appears to cut inflammation down "dramatically" but it needs to be used everyday ... so that's a big downside.
I have this lysine http://www.iherb.com/Now-Foods-L-Lysine-Powder-1-lb-454-g/653?at=0
but there are other cheaper ones with less lysine that should work equally well.
Here is a quote from CS
"When you mentioned the topical Lysine, especially with you current experience it seems to wrap up all of the important factors such as all the posts in the DKK-1 thread, the herpes simplex virus thread, NO/ONOO cycle, etc.
... Lysine inhibits MMP-9 (a collagenase enzyme that degrades hair follicles), it inhibits Herpes simplex virus (jdp710 has a great thread on this), helps prevent the deposition of Lipoprotein(a) and Lysine can help dampen the adverse effects of when Nitric Oxide combines with superoxide, forming potent oxidant peroxynitrite per NO/ONOO cycle."

Re: lysine please advise
I actually ran out of my lysine, so will be reordering. I bought this smaller version here before. http://www.iherb.com/L-Lysine-Amino-Acid-Powder-100-g/13608?at=0
It's nice and easy to use.

JHarsh80 - I found it is easier to pour the powered lysine in my hand after already applying shampoo, then lathering in the lysine.
