Regrowing questions Empty Regrowing questions

CS, TN and guys,

i would like to know your views on shedding before regrowth. Is this absolutely necessary before thin hair shafts can thicken or can it just happen w/o going through hair cycles. Im a diffuse thinner btw.

Also, would like your opinions on my regimen should there be anything important that i did not include. Ive decided to get on MSM as the dosage from maxi hair is kind of low.

Thanks

NG, shedding before regrowth has never been my experience, but that doesn't mean it can't happen. It can happen.

I think there are at least two questions that would determine whether or not I proceeded with a given product or regimen.

1. How much hair is being shed? I tend to think that losing large amounts of hair over a short period of time is not a good thing. Conversely, a gradual thinning may or may not be a bad thing, I have come to learn. But to be absolutely sure, you must go through the process, which may last for weeks to a month. Personally, if I did not see some signs of progress after a month or so, I would probably change my regimen or brand of herb.

This waiting period requires a lot of patience.

2. Where is the hair being shed? If you are shedding in places that you once considered "safe," then you might need to reconsider the products that you are taking. However, if you are shedding hair in thinning areas, refer to question 1.

My advice to anyone using anything is to understand why they are using it. Is the product essential to your goal of maintaining, regrowing, and/or thickening your hair? What would happen, if you took said product out of your regimen, how would your hair be affected?

thanks TN,

to be honest im not sure what benefits does curcumin + resveratrol brings, but im definitely looking for thickening or regrowth of hair. As mentioned im a diffuse thinner, and i did not catch it quick enough to be content with just maintaining. im envious that you could achieve desirable result with such a simple regimen though.

thanks anyway for the advice on shedding.

oh by the way,

is there any regimen that would help for high cholesterol? My dad just got back his test results and its on the rise again. Ive did a search and found that CS once recommend krill oil? Is there anything else that would be beneficial?

NoGravity - Elevated cholesterol can result from low testosterone, low Vitamin D levels, elevated metals, low iodine, or low thyroid. Generally high cholesterol is a sign that it is trying to make more of something.

Of course most physicians look to treat the symptom instead of the cause. Whether the cholesterol is actually higher might be another matter. Personally I would rather have a cholesterol level above 200 then one lower than 200. The reason is is the mortality rates, risk of stroke etc, found in low cholesterol levels.

Krill oil is very effective for raising HDL levels and lower LDL. There's also Niacin (regular), plus many other options. As long as cholesterol is not oxidized it's not a problem, this is where antioxidants come in.

NoGravity - I'm not certain how potent Ginseng is, but if you try it, Panax Ginseng is the kind to use. My feeling is that it's not especially potent having tried it myself for periods of time.

thanks CS. i'll add it into my topical and oral regimen then. I do have some high quality korean ginseng powder but i do not know if its panax ginseng?

Btw, which specific supplements/set of supplements would be most effective in controlling scalp sebum production? Thanks once again.

NoGravity - Korean Ginseng is considered to be Panax, so you've probably got the right kind.

Taking Lithium Orotate orally or adding lithium orotate or chloride to a shampoo will reduce sebum quite a bit.
