Sleep Issues on MSM Empty Sleep Issues on MSM

Ever since I started taking MSM (at a dose of 2 teaspoons per day), I wake up feeling wired and agitated in the middle of the night.

Does anybody know the cause of this? Sufur excess? Detox reaction? Should I reduce my dose and work up slowly to 2 teaspoons?

Other than this I've noticed a great nootropic effect immediately after taking MSM, along with better blood flow- so I'd like to continue taking it.

it increases oxygen, however there's also a detox effect, but taking in the evening will increase chance of these issues.

Would not reduce dosage.....instead drink enough water, and try not to take too late in evening.

Cheers- I'll try increasing my water intake. I had headaches as well so I suppose that also points to dehydration.

Would you say the immediate nootropic / alertness effect from MSM is due to the increased oxygen from the sulfate?

Sulfur neurotransmitters can also interact with other neurotransmitters and modulate their functions. For example, hydrogen sulfide can enhance the release of acetylcholine, dopamine, and glutamate
