Microneedling Alone?

Everyone online talks about the "big 3" plus microneedling but is there any evidence that needling works WITHOUT any thing else?

Logically, needling makes sense because it breaks up calcification and increases blood flow. After I needle, my scalp feels much looser.

I wish I could say something positive about micro needling but I think I've been doing it for the last 6 months(once a week with varying needle lengths from 0.5 to 1.5mm) and I haven't seen any positive results. Positive results being : Decrease or halt in shedding. Thickening of existing hair. Regrowth. My crown area is thinner than ever. I've tried to throw in some scalp massage but I experienced more shedding(might be coincidental) so I stopped.
I take vid d(5000ui) zinc, magnesium, vit C and saw palmetto(I have mixed feelings about this one).
I'll keep micro needling for another 6 months or a year. I don't intend to throw in minox because on paper MN is supposed to be more effective as a stand alone treatment.
I've used minox in the past for 6 months with saw palmetto, and I can definitely say my hair got a little thicker but I haven't seen any regrowth so I quit.
