Old gambling systems I have known
I'm in another off-topic mood again. Anybody ever try their luck at casinos? I used to have what I thought was a fairly unbeatable scheme for winning small bets on the roulette table. It's a doubling your bet until you win scheme. I'd look for tables that were streaking in black or red numbers...8 or 9 in a row. Roulette tables have that score board on a post that shows the last 15 results. I'd think that ok there's 8 reds in a row...it's time for a black number to come up. So you start with the min bet of 5 or 10 bucks and if you lose (another red comes up) you double your last bet. 5, 10, 20, 40, 80....etc until you reach the max ceiling bet that they have. Usually it's $1000 for small bet tables. Tables where the min bet is $25 has a higher max ceiling of $5000 or more. Anyway, the streaks didn't last too long and I would win and come out ahead the min bet of $5.
It gets kind of antsy when you're betting 80 and then 160 and then 320 praying that the streak will end soon LOL. You can't get rich playing that way but it's sort of fun and if you're in a large vegas casino where they have lots of roulette tables it doesn't take long before you see another streak of red or black ready to break the other way somewhere else. I used to make a couple hundred dollars a night doing that. You can also bet on other 50/50 odds on roulette like odd/even or 1-18/19-36. But sooner or later you will come across the streak from hell where it refuses to break...and the green zeroes (0 and 00) don't help either since they are not colours or numbers. That's what happened to me...I ran into a streak from hell lol.
You'd make a lot more money if you can catch a streak just starting and just let your bet ride 7 or 8 times and the house keeps doubling to you... but you have to be psychic to know when that will happen lol. Unless you can gets stats on how often streaks occur on roulette wheels.

What you are describing is the (in)famous Martingale system. It's not profitable (EV+) in the long term. In fact it's probably one of the most risky things a gambler can do. The bets get large very quickly on a losing streak.
The illusion is that it appears to work well at first - until eventually it doesn't and the gambler suffers an enormous loss. The small profits made along the way do not adequately cover this possibility (which is surprisingly high and becomes more likely the more you play).
The odds of each spin are exactly the same regardless of previous outcomes. You cannot "beat the system" by playing around with the timing of your bets. All previous spins are irrelevant. This may be not be intuitive but it's 100% true. Martingale betting strategy has been around for centuries - if it really worked they wouldn't let people do it.

Believe it or not (okay, I'll provide proof) that there is a way to use progressive betting and always come out on top
without having to increase your bet more than 250%
Look up Project 202.
If you can't find it, I'll post it here.
Long before my medical/hair growth history, I was driven to figure out Horse Racing. The betting methods were very intriguing and Project 202 works for this and/or any casino game.

Project 202 is interesting....complicated but interesting. Looks like you win small amounts mostly but these could add up over time. Not sure I have the patience to give it a go. I just wanna win big and run lol

True, it's not very exciting. It works on the principle of taking advantage of trends, which seem to occur naturally in any game of chance.
