anything new on the hair growth scene? Empty anything new on the hair growth scene?

It's like science gave up on us. The epidermal layer where the hair follicles reside is only about 0.5 mm thick. Is it that hard to figure out a cure??? Did anybody have luck with that ecklonia cava stuff?

The cure is in the cause(s).

I'll list the top 3 to focus on.

All dental history - research this topic heavily and you'll begin to understand why this MPB even occurs.

Sleep quality. - After interviewing several hundreds of people spanning over a decade on just hair loss alone
(not including other aliments) sleep quality is frequently at odds, most probably close to 80 to 90%.

Liver and/or kidney issues.

I've heard protein power is bad for kidneys. I've been using it on and off for almost 20 years.
My sleep quality is so so. I should sleep more but melatonin helps me have a deeper sleep. I rarely wake up in the middle of the night anymore, but for some reason I've started waking up earlier eventhough I go to bed very late.

As for dental history, I guess what is done is done. Not sure how to do anything about it.

The high protein myth is based on people with already very poor kidney function. And ironically, they also need protein to fix the kidneys.

Hey CS, care to elaborate on this point?

My BUN was just tested at 22 mg/dL (normal range 7-17 mg/dL)... should I be worried?

The kidneys are a big deal, I think because they are rooted in the hair growth scene in a lot of ways.

Normal BUN levels can vary, but generally a high level of blood urea nitrogen is a sign that your kidneys are not working well.

Elevated levels could be caused by dehydration, or could result form poisons (drugs), and in theory a high protein diet, probably not unusual for age to be some factor.

Other tests might include:

Creatinine and GFR (Glomerular Filtration Rate)

Symptoms of kidney issues would be needing to urinate more often or less often than usual, urticaria (itching),
low energy, fluid edema in the legs, feet, or ankles, muscle cramps, and sleeping problems.

All that stated, dropping protein isn't really the solution. Instead, other factors. The medical cartel prefers to keep
people in the dark and blame high protein instead of drugs, toxic foods (or foods that were once okay, but have toxic additives), plus a lack of nutrition, poor sleep, and plenty of hidden things.

Without question, hair loss drugs (finasteride and Do-Trash-your-ride) destroy the kidneys.

Good to know that the kidneys are another piece of this ever-so-complex puzzle.  My Creatine and eGFR levels were fine, actually.  I had been drinking plain water mixed with whey protein as meal replacement, so perhaps that was the cause of the elevated BUN.

Also, I've just been steadily losing the hair loss battle, so unfortunately I restarted Finasteride a while ago.  I'm only taking 0.25 mg/day, though.  Hopefully that's a low enough dose to spare my kidneys much harm.

Regarding new treatments - do you think there is any promise in hair cloning technology?  Here's an interesting article:

Try crushing up your finasteride and mixing it in rogaine liquid or a carrier of your choice like maybe weak alcohol or emu oil. Probably won't be too much systemic side-effects. There's a website called keeps.com that sells it like that but unfortunately you have to agree to receiving it for life. Heck with that.
