chronic hypoglycemia

My elderly mother blood sugar levels drop all the time. She drinks that vitamin drink called Ensure or juice to keep it up. But it also puts on weight if you don't move around much. Is there any supplements that might help keep the blood sugar stable? I heard chromium picolinate might do the job but not sure. She's not diabetic so it's not any diabetic meds that is raising insulin too much. It's probably just old age, doesn't eat much or move much.

Ensure is probably the human equivalent of low-grade pet kibble for pets.

chromium picolinate only "works" in full spectrum food form, the isolate known as chromium picolinate will do nothing.

Just one thought, not anywhere as cheap, but if health is a priority, cow or goat colostrum is unbeatable.
