Brewer's yeast feeds demodex? Empty Brewer's yeast feeds demodex?

I was searching around the net for more info on brewer's yeast and apparently it's good for dogs. fleas and other insects won't touch dogs who eat brewer's yeast and garlic. The BY, along with fish oil or cod liver oil, makes their coats shiny as well - this is very true with my mother's dogs. I was thinking that this has got to be good for me too (since i get bit by bugs all the time). So, i found out that it works for humans as well. This guy on youtube ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDG6SdXX4vs ) swears by it. Also, IH and Tom Hagerty recommend BY for hair health, so i bought some (powder form from Lewis Labs)

Anyway, mites are pretty much bugs too right? So, it's not too unreasonable to expect that they'd be put off by the BY as much as other bugs like fleas. But, then, i came across this site: http://www.thewholedog.org/artDemodex.html

That woman claims that dietary yeast will feed demodex. Is that bullshit or is it true? I'd like to know as i believe there's a kernel of truth to the demodex angle to hairloss.

jksl - There was a time when brewer's yeast was thought to be "bad" since it is a yeast, but in truth Brewer's yeast is anti-yeast in terms of yeast overgrowth. I'd say the author is flat out wrong.
