willow bark extend lifespan in yeast Empty willow bark extend lifespan in yeast

Since aging and hair are often linked as CS point since years now, its interesting to read that:

https://raypeatforum.com/community/threads/aspirin-pro-drug-from-willow-bark-extends-yeast-lifespan-by-almost-400.10141/

they tested 10 000+ ingredients on average and maximum lifespan extension in yeast and found out willow bark 25/30% salicin was the best one with impressive score: 475 per cent and 369 per cent, respectively

salicin is closely related to aspirin.. Means the effect on inflammation (PGD2 also probably ?). However, one the mechanism I would like to understand more is why: they found an important longevity factor is increase in mitochondrial respiration and ROS production.

So we want to decrease ROS in plasma but want to increase its production ? Is not the opposite of what resveratrol etc does ?
