Best Shampoo for clearing Sebum Build Up? (Non SLS)
Any recommendations?
I'd always gone natural and avoided shampoo cos of SLS fears and just used water. Ironically probably done me more harm than good.
Any shampoos without SLS that deep cleanse the follicles of gunk, that can be used everyday?

Re: Best Shampoo for clearing Sebum Build Up? (Non SLS)
These days, I dont worry anymore about the SLS thing. I rather use Alpecin and Nizoral than to have faith in some soap.
I used soap for almost 2 years, and honestly: my hair just looked better because it had a lot soap attached to it; forehead still got oily and temples were still itching.
Since I started the above listed shampoos my hair doesnt look as good (a little bit dry) but forehead is less oily and itch is fairly rare - even when I smoke a joint, wich is when my scalp itches the most.

Cheers. I tried Nizoral a few years back and that was also one of the things that gave me itchy nips (potential gyno issues) though now my health and liver is in better order (and I'm off the beer) I may not have issues now
Alpecin is tempting, I like the idea of caffeine shampoo
Just found this, check out the photos and results...

May give oat water a try

Just as I suspected: soap remains in hair follicles after washing it.
Well, about Alpecin: minor scientific proof of it´s action against AGA, but a LOT of users report tickening and maintenance of existing hair (some even regrowth); but I wouldn`t get overly excited about it (just to not get disapointed lol). It has, besides caffeine, zinc and niacinamide. Although, Revivogen seems fairly more appealing, but also much more expensive.
As for Nizoral: I think it´s crucial; there´s plenty of anedoctal evidence about its effeciency preventing hair loss, thickening existing hair and reducing sebum - of course, after a period of long-term use (1 year or something). In fact, with just a minor research you can find a study that compares Nizoral 2% to Minoxidil 2% when used for a long period - with pictures included! But it will dry your hair...a lot.

Check out for 1 month if sexual abstinence doesn't help. For me it reduces sebum to literally 0...
