First NAFTA and GATT, then CAFTA enough to make TPP seem almost inconsequential. Sad but true, I see TPP (and the destruction of US sovereignty by outside forces) as inevitable. BTW, in my very first election in 1996, I voted for Ross Perot.

As a Brit I've got nothing but fear for another similar agreement, the TTIP (The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership)... and no offence to you American's, but you have some of the nastiest, greediest corporations in the Western world out there. To have them wielding influence over European policy. Eugh.

In fact just a few weeks ago EU was due to ban a further 20 toxic pesticides, but pressure over TTIP meant they backtracked.

And I'm sure you guys wouldn't want some Brit or German company dictating US policy. It's insane and nothing but a mechanism for corporations to wield more influence of politics and power.

To think of fuckers like Monsanto influencing EU policy and then if they don't get agreement suing Governments for "blocking trade"... man... globalisation has brought plenty of good, but this is one side of it I hate.

With Monsanto buying/merging with Syngenta its going to be horrible.  

GMO labeling will be put on the back burner also.

GMO is far worse than hydrogenated oils, at least I can actively avoid those. To be honest, almost everything has strains and traces of GMO. The only true labeling choice would be that of non-GMO products.
