Improved hair quality with Shedding - can they happen simultaneously?

Hi guys, has anyone experienced their hair improving (hair diameter thickening, softer hair, darker hair, possibly some regrowth??) whilst still slightly shedding?

Yes, actually this did happen to me before. After starting Nizoral I experienced a large shed and stopped it immediately but the shed kept up. I starting using a hair tonic nightly to promote hair growth and even though the shedding did not seem to slow my hair actually continually got thicker and thicker. By the 6th week of using the hair tonic my hair had still not completely stopped shedding but my hair was even thicker than when I first started shedding in the first place.
