Either here or on hairloss help. Just wanting to use something to unclog the pores. A little nervous about putting Lithium in hair.

well, this is the first time i've heard that nizoral can thin your scalp. Steroidal creams, however, will thin your scalp. But, there are no steroids in nizoral.

nizoral is a mild anti androgen AND stimulant. to save the hassle from getting a prescription, hit up amazon and look for the 2% if you're interested

my hair feels great after using niz in the shower. However i'm not sure if my hair is getting thicker or looking thicker due to the drying affect/ effect (I forgot which is the noun). if you do decide to use it, get a good conditioner

Re: How bad is Nizoral for your hair?
Hey guys,
I know this is an older post but I do believe I read on Drugs.com that a potential side effect of nizoral is thinning skin. (see below)
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); infection; new or worsening irritation, pain, redness, blistering, or severe burning at the application site; skin thinning or discoloration.
The reason I mention it is I know there seems to be a link and possible connection between MPB and changing scalp thickness and texture (progressive scalp thinning, hardening, and tightening) Here's another thread that talks about it
https://immortalhair.forumotion.com/t9323-scalp-thickness-texture-effect-on-hair-growth?highlight=scalp
I remember after using nizoral for the first couple of times even my face skin seemed clearer and thinner and shortly after my hair started to shed. At first I thought it was the nizoral "shed" people talk about but I think it may have been more related to the thinning of the scalp since that is what I believed partially contributed to my hair loss to begin with.
Has anybody else had any related experiences or thoughts in regards to this?
Thanks!
