something that a lot of bald people have in common
These last days I tried to check out the scalp of bald men and it seems that they have often visible veins (artery?)on the temples or on the forehead. On the other side people with nw1/nw0 hair have no visible veins popping out.
Maybe the scalp tightness made those veins more visible? Or do you guys have another explanation?

Nuuu_dx: Do you sweat alot? or do you have an overproduction of sebum?
My other theory is that this is happening because of thermoregulation.
In order to stop my artery from being visible, I have to wash my hair with cold water.
Vasodilation occurs in superficial blood vessels when their ambient environment is hot; this process diverts the flow of heated blood to the skin , where heat can be more easily released to the atmosphere.
I start to believe the thermoregulation theory..

I don't have heavily dilated arteries to the point where they protrude through skin tissue, yet I do experience lots of heat here, but only when I exercise too much or wear thick clothing. I personally think that your subdural haematoma has caused issues with brain cooling, so the arteries and veins in your scalp have widened in order to release brain heat and cool it faster.
There definitely seems to be a connection between scalp heat and hairloss, but we can delve into a 101 theories as to why that is. We have covered many of these issues in the past, but still have no resolute conclusion.

BTW I forgot to mention something; the other day I decided to play a video game... something which i hardly do anymore. This particular game demanded very strong mental concentration, and guess what? I was so mentally stressed that my scalp began to inflame like hell. My take on this is 1. increased adrenaline caused more blood to flow to my brain 2. my brain began to overheat 3. My scalp began to inflame due to the massive amounts of brain heat it was releasing.
This is not the first time someone has mentioned video games causing scalp inflammation -- there have been a few threads on this in the past, and it, IMO, is akin to the effects of psychological stress, i.e., stress hormones causing the brain to overwork and thus overheat.

Totally second this.
I literally haven't touched a video game for any serious length of time in a very long time...why? Hair loss.
Too much fight or flight response.

body hair/ scalp recession ratio
Ive noticed that many(not all, obviously) bald men have a lot of body hair compared to men w/ full heads of hair. Overall, it seems like the body hair is relative to the amount of recession.
The clearest example of this is Native American men. I've never seen a bald Native American(unless he was ½ white) full heads of hair and zero body hair; it's an observation thats hard to ignore.
I was wondering if anyone else noticed this.

Yeah i kinda get what you're saying. But I don't think it matters. I've seen hairy hairy dudes who had tons of hair. There could be some connection though. Maybe a hormone thing, or maybe stress increases body hair. No idea. Good observation though

From what I've seen it depends on where all the extra body hair is.
I've noticed people with hairloss have more body hair on their upper arms and back but on the flip side I've seen men with quite a bit of hair on their chest and forearms but no noticeable hair loss.
But then again my friend who has really bad mpb has next to no body hair apart from his chest and even then it's not a great amount.

If I recall correctly he did have pretty hairy shoulders lol
I think Pierce Brosnan had a carpet on his chest too but amazing hair
All observation though but yeah, men with excess body hair tend to have hair loss from what I've witnessed.

wow i butchered my sentence. i'm gonna take a guess and say the type of hair that people have when they have a lot of body hair is the same as the hair on their head. which i think is some kind of finer hair. i've noticed most guys with body hair do have a certain type of hair on their head. it's usually not that thick jet black hair you see. it's like a thin brownish color. and i think THAT type of hair is sensitive to inflammation and DHT.
guys with no body hair tend to have that thick DARK hair as well. none of this is making sense
