Re: bald guy recovering full hair: tofacitinib citrate and Kyle Rhodes
This story was posted about a couple of days ago. Whodathunkit found an article on the subject.
Long story short...the effects were amazing, but the two things that really take away steam are the fact he was dealing with alopecia universalis - an autoimmune condition causing all hair to fall out - and he was using the drug Xeljanz which severely inhibits the immune system. As the article you posted points out, one of the dangerous sides is it opens you up to some of the more deadly infections out there, ala TB.
Is it the miracle we're after, no. But the real value to me is that its helping add detail to the picture of how hair loss works. If we can connect dots between this condition and MPB, we might see something more uniquely tailored to our condition come down the pipe before too long.

Big pharma would love nothing more than us believing we have a deficiency in one of their patentable substances, instead of simple electromagnetic energy, K2, D3, sulfur, silica, iodine, magnesium, potassium etc. Good luck in chasing that rabbit down yet into another hole. The sides sound about as reasonable as finasteride.

None of those things would have helped him regrow that much hair though... I'm not saying the drug is safe, but they need to figure out how it works and make something that has the same effect without the side effects. This is all totally unapplicable to what most of us here have however.
