Re: thoughts on this?
while i have no doubt there are countless foreign species all throughout the universe, I think the only extraterrestrial life form on earth are humans (living in cities, driving cars eating crap etc.) they also try to take over your mind and control you, experiment with you, enslave you and occasionally they even might abduct you. that's where that abstract fear of real aliens diverges from.

Re: thoughts on this?
I have heard some pretty "out there" theories before, which I tend not to believe. I think some of them are quite ridiculous. The theory of aliens living in underground bases scattered throughout the globe is one example. I also don't believe that there are currently alien civilizations influencing world events today.
But I do adhere pretty strongly to the beliefs of Graham Hancock, whose biggest point is that what we've been led to believe is human history is totally inaccurate. The maps, the ancient structures, I think they are staring us right in the face. Either there was some type of extra terrestrial intervention in these early cultures, on a worldwide scale, or perhaps more likely is the fact that there were more advanced human civilizations in the past - 10,000 years plus - whose technological footprint was felt around the globe.
