Urgent! Can I travel with Iodine?

I am traveling (by plane) from Canada to the US and wondering if I can travel with Iodine in my checked luggage. It is Iosol and says food supplement on it. I figure it should be okay but wanted to ask as I know Iodine has its own limitations/legalities.

Caustic, you travel with all of your pill bottles? Wouldn't that take an entire suitcase? How does the TSA respond?

I've never had any problems getting my bottles/pills/nostrums through TSA in my carry-on. As long as any liquid is in one of the ridiculously small mandated containers, iodine or anything should be no problem.

Although once a genius at TSA did hold my checked bag for my lactic acid facial peel. Apparently "acid" is a four-letter word to them. I told them to look it up and complained to a supervisor about untrained and uninformed personnel, and my bag was released posthaste.

I use a transparent bag (it has zipper for easy access), the kind of plastic thing that stores a bed linen set. I take this via carry on. Not a single problem and have been to various places in and outside the USA.

I do not take a suitcase worth since I do not take nearly that many. However, I do lighten my load a little when travelling.
