CS: Excess Vitamin A
CS,
Still trying to get to the bottom of this flaky skin issue and I have read that excess vitamin A can be a concern. So I am going to switch from Carlson CLO to regular Carlson Fish oil even though I don't think Carlson was the problem I am certain it was the Green Pasture products.
If my vitamin A levels are too high is it enough to bring them to normal by simply abstaining from high vitamin A foods? There has been some controversy over the green pasture products and their very large vitamin A amounts and I also took those in large doses. I seem to have had a seb derm outbreak when I started taking the last of my Fermented CLO which has huge vitamin A levels

Re: CS: Excess Vitamin A
isaac - Were you taking Blue Ice (high vitamin cod liver oil)?
This has enough vitamin D in it to be perfectly okay.
But most cod liver oil has too little vitamin D due to distilling processes.
If you're pretty sure it's the Blue Ice, perhaps a switch to Krill oil, which contains
no preformed vitamin A in it.
The best way to bring down vitamin A is to take extra vitamin D. At this particular time of
year most of us are really low on vitamin D. As long as our shadow is taller than we are,
we are not making any vitamin D from the sun. Supplemental D3 is pretty important.

Yes I am using the Blue Ice Fermented CLO which contains 3500IU Vit A minimum per 1ml so this is potent stuff. I'm also supplementing Vitamin D 4000iu to maintain current levels. A perfect diet did nothing for my seb derm ....my next plan of attack is the S.Boulardii experiment.

isaac - Have you tried the Lithium topical and if so, did it help reduce the SD?
