Sciatica Due to a Slipped Disk
OK so I followed the regimen on healthy fixx for lower back problems for over 3 months now with nothing. I also went
up north to Montery to get an oxogen injection directly into the sciatic nerve that also did nothing. Im in Constant pain.
The next step is to get a Steriod Injection, that doesn,t help surgery will be next. Can a chiropracter fix this or no.
Is there any other kind of Injection I can get.

What about medication, physical therapy, traction...?

Have you tried Prolozone?
It's ozone gas injected in the affected area.

I have tried Prolozone. I drove 4 hours north just to get it done and the doctor injected it directly into my right glute and it did nothing. He seemed as he didn,t know what he was doing.

Re: Sciatica Due to a Slipped Disk
I have lower back pain, and pain along my left side that goes down to my knee. I don't know if that is sciatica, but mine was greatly alleviated when I gave up gluten. The pain disappeared and only reappears mildly during damper weather. I do have autoimmune issues though, and possibly that has an impact. I don't know if I am correct, but I think that the inflammation caused by the gluten caused some of the pain.

You also feel the pain in inner thigh muscle which connects it or just in the joint/lower back? Are you a sports man?

I don't do sports. I do have L-4 L-5 deterioration which one day I will probable need surgery for, but with the gluten free diet I don't have nearly as much pain as I used to. When I had pain, it seemed to start in the buttocks muscle and radiated down the out part of the thigh to the knee. No inner thigh pain.

Re: Sciatica Due to a Slipped Disk
Yea, I can,t deal with the pain anymore. Gluten is one thing I stay away from to begin with. I am going to the doctor wednesday to get a steriod injection or cortisol. I need something.
That will only be temporary. Then maybe I can work on physical therapy. I must have lifted something at work. Only thing I can think of.

I asked because i was interested if disc herniation accured at once or it is more like a chronic pain developed by long period of time. I'd try violet ray on the area 2x15minutes a day, add more to biochemistry part as well before jumping to conclusions that surgery is necessairly. Making some conclusions from CS post on healthy fixx about lower back pain would still point something to work on, i think.
Regarding inner thight, it accours another herniation in abdominal wall as well as knee pain and both has connection with back pain which is source of the problem according to my physio. Keeping core of the body balanced is something physio talks about, keeping hormones and biochemistry balanced is something CS and this forum is about. Imo, you need both. Search youtube for some exercises for lower back pain and keep doing it for a while. Let your body takes care of it, not surgeons.

Re: Sciatica Due to a Slipped Disk
Trace, don't discount the PT exercises. I was all ready to have surgery a couple of years ago, until as a last ditch effort the doctors sent me to PT. The core support exercises just about eradicated the pain.
Beebox, Good point about the violet ray. I have been remiss about doing the exercises lately, and the back pain is back somewhat, but not the leg or knee pain. I will try the violet ray, and get back to the PT exercises on a regular basis. I have been doing them for a few days now, and it's pretty amazing how much they help.

Re: Sciatica Due to a Slipped Disk
Many ways to approach this as you can see.
One person in my family had success with a physio. Another had good success with a trusted chiropractor.
I've had a moderately painful back bounced into alignment from a very skilled therapist.
A temporary respite that also works is lying half over the end of a bed - facing upwards - the curve of the bed's side pushes against the spine
and provides relief and gentle pressure on the problem area.

Re: Sciatica Due to a Slipped Disk
If low-dose cortisol works, it's a sign of low adrenal function.
