O/T. Treatment for skin after large scab formation on back

Had some scabs fall off after having them for close to a month. Large scabs which required a lot of time for healing. They were located on my back and now it has been after a month since they have fallen off and I still have pink/reddish skin. Ive been applying Aloe Vera but is there anything else I can do to help the skin get back to its natural color. BTW there is no raised or indentation from scarring, smooth skin with discoloration.

I know people in the medical field, dermatologist who deal often with scarring and woundhealing, almost all of them told me not to put anything on the skin. I would avoid the sun for now and let time do the rest...
