Raising NO (nitric oxide)
But which amino acid is most effective, or should one use a cocktail of different ones like L-Citrulline, L-Arginine, L-lysine, L-cysteine (or NAC) etc?
I guess one should not take these amino acids in there free forms?
I've also heard that it is important to take large amounts of vitamin C when trying to up NO with amino acids, since it will protect the levels of glutathione. There is also talk about sides when taking amino acids in too high doses.
Since this is a free radical we are talking about (NO), would there be any long term concerns related to this fact?
And finally, would large doses of for example arginine results in raised levels of homocysteine? If so, would folic acid be advised to include in the nitric oxide raising regimen?

Re: Raising NO (nitric oxide)
Misirlou - Yes NO is a free-radical, one possible side-effect is peroxynitrate. Ecklonia cava will fix that.
One problem with using amino acid based NO boosters is that some of them will also increase prolactin.
That all said, there is certainly a dark side of boosting NO.
While Ecklonia Cava boosts NO and fights peroxynitrate you have a very safe choice. However, it's not as powerful as a boost as Celery Seed extract. Take an extra amount and it will really raise NO to noticeable levels.
Regarding homocysteine, well I have some news on that. Turns out homocysteine is not the villain everyone thought it was based on new research.

Re: Raising NO (nitric oxide)
This one is more expensive than some others, but it's the most potent.

Taking two will produce more noticeable effects.

Is L-Citrulline safe supplement for raising nitric oxide or it falls in the same category as L-Arginine?
