tiredness/stress -> sex hormones through the roof?

i've been noticing that when i sleep very little or live a stressful life I become horny like crazy.
is it possible that
tiredness/stress -> sex hormones through the roof
within a matter of hours???
back when i lost my temples i was living a very stressful life and getting very little sleep. and yet i've got a pattern of loss that looks like it's driven by hormones...
maybe this has been stated before, but it looks pretty obvious to me on days like this one...
