an amino acid that could make a big change
Hi all,
since a lot of posters are concerned with their intestines. (taking probiotics and stuff)
I would like to give a suggestion, take a good glutamine supplement (GL3 from AST is my favorite).
I have supplemented this non-essential amino acid in the past (while doing weight training)
and more recently. As a i was suffering from sore shoulder/neck muscles for years and lately having problems with my bowels (many months) , I thought let's try GL3 again.
-It is supposed to help your inner lining of the guts , it is a fuel source for your intestines.
-It is the most abundant amino acid in your body.
-it is used (created?) by your muscles and bowels
- it is a pre cursor to GABA
- it is found extensively in your spinal fluid
- it supposedly boosts your growth hormone levels
- it combats catabolic hormones and stress.
- it easily travels the blood brain barrier.
As it is non-essential , your body can produce its own, but during periods of stress demands might outweigh the supply.
I can only vouch for my own experience, but this stuff made a dramatic impact in my general health in less than a week. My sore muscles vanished. My bowels behave normal again. I feel less agitated.
Just take look into it , that's all i am saying
(mind you, i was on a big supplement regime all these years. All the vitamins and especially minerals i take routinely. Of course influenced by this wonderfull site)

metro - I agree with your statement. This amino acid has surprisingly received little attention on this site. I'll add just one thing, which is that it helps increase glutathione.

I use it for bodybuilding purposes. It's great. Heals leaky gut, boosts growth hormone, and lowers cortisol.
