Does topical fluoride really help remineralization?
It seems like the general consensus is fluoride ingested = bad, fluoride topically = helps, but is still bad because you ingest some. Is this correct? Or is the notion that fluoride topically aiding in the re-mineralization of teeth false?
"All fluoridation methods provide low concentrations of fluoride ions in saliva, thus exerting a topical effect on the plaque fluid. Fluoride combats the decay primarily by the formation Fluorapatite via remineralization of enamel. The fluoride ions reduce the rate of tooth enamel demineralization, and increase the rate of remineralization of the early stages of cavities.[3] Fluoride exerts its major effect by this demineralization and remineralization cycle."
Is this all basically true, or does topical fluoride actually not do anything good for teeth?

No, just bad.fluoride ingested = bad, fluoride topically = helps
Google fluorosis. There is also the fact that fluorid kills enzymes that are essential for gum health and regenerating small cavities.does topical fluoride actually not do anything good for teeth?

Fluoride weakens teeth. Fluoride increases the hardness of teeth, which makes it more brittle. Fluoride accumulates in bone tissue causing poor bone strength and fragility.
Fluoride bonds to aluminium increasing its entrance in the the body and brain.
Fluoride interferes with iodine absorption.
Fluoride has no place in the human body.

Fluoriders claim that dental health increases where fluoride is added. I guess that's not completely true
However, do we have any studies indicating that fluoride makes enamel brittle by first making it harder?

Yes, which is the study that shows topical fluoride weakens teeth by making it harder? It is hard to track down all of the sources from the healthyfixx article.
From everything I can find it says that topical fluoride doesn't cause fluorosis. Even anti-fluoride articles go on to talk more about systematic fluoride overdose and doesn't state the negatives of purely topical use.

I see no point in using a poison topically, even if there would be no proof of negative effects. Research the inhibition of oral enzymes, that will probably satisfy you....

Re: Does topical fluoride really help remineralization?
I second pancacke, using fluoride in any fashion is utter foolishness
Further, the only 'benefit" on topical fluoride is in small children only.
Vitamin K2 and D3 is vastly superior than fluoride in all respects for mineralization.
Fluoride is neurotoxic. We buy industrial waste fluoride and put it in our drinking water--How did this happen?
They convinced the dentists it was 'good' for us, and that's all it took.
