Demodex/Seabuckthorn question Empty Demodex/Seabuckthorn question

Post  hadrion Sun Nov 09, 2008 7:59 am

I took Nid's advice from his regimen and I began using the seabuckthorn soap in the shower. I wash my face and my scalp with it.

Since I've been doing it, I've seen redness and irritation surrounding the follicles. I've also noticed I have redness and irritation on the middle of my chest where my chest hair follicles come out.

Could this be a sign that I have/had mites and am killing them off?

The only other thing I'm using in those areas is topical magnesium oil. Could it be that?

Just trying to rule stuff out and figure out if this is how killing mites off with seabuckthorn would present itself.

Hadrion--

I had the same thing as you, except not as severe (demodex cases vary). I had what resembled little acne bumps around mainly my receded/thinning front areas (makes sense right?). I also did get the occasional pimple on the body. This doesn't really happen anymore.

The Mag. Oil may contribute, but I'm not sure.

Hey guys,

Just joined up here. I have been on GFSE to kill off demodex but I didn't get major die off until I added SeaBuckthorn Soap. That is when I started getting the same thing you guys are saying. I never get any pimples... even through puberty but after adding the SB soap I got zits popping up all over. Most of them were near my hairline, left temple specifically, which has experienced more loss than the right. Subsequently the itch is going away along with the zits and my loss is very low on a day to day basis. I am waiting for that regrowth phase.

Good Luck and keep with it. You might want to add some GFSE spray to add during the day. My breakouts go away much quicker this way.

Is GFSE grapefruit seed extract?

Are you taking this orally to kill demodex?

I find that magnesium oil (chloride) irritates my skin a little. Same with lithium chloride except way stronger to the point where I can't use lithium chloride because it inflames my skins so much. I tried using mag oil on areas where I have eczema and it burns making it worse. The seabuckthorn soap may be irritating your skins also, I found that it was pretty drying, I prefer more mild soaps like dr bonner's.

Yes GFSE is grapeFRUIT seed extract. Some people get it confused with grape seed extract. I take it both orally and topically. Nutribiotic sells it in both liquid and tablet form. The tablet form will save you a lot of heartache while taking it orally. The stuff tastes awful and it will also save time from having to mix it up 2-3 times per day.

J8--

The Seabuckthorn is definitely drying--notice it on my stomach. However, I don't seem to get skin irritation from it--just had those few acne in the beginning but it's a thing of the past now that I'm consistent with it. Scalp feels so freaking great after my showers though. Smile

On the Mag. Oil, you may want to check out puremagoil.com's "Ancient Minerals" Mag. Oil. That lacks the Chloride, I believe.

Hapy--

Good to see ya aboard man!
