Eosinophil Empty Eosinophil

Post  Espio Thu Nov 11, 2010 10:38 am

I just got some blood work done, and everything was in range except for one thing, "eosinophil" was 10%, while the reference range was 10%. Is this a sign of food allergies probably? I never heard of it until now, but I have been reading they are related.

Other than that, everything was great, since I went from a meat based diet to a almost-vegan diet, my cholesterol dropped from 250 (80 HDL, 170 LDL) to 140 (50 HDL, 70 LDL). My triglicerides went from 90 down to 37.

Espio - Yes it is an adjunctive indicator, and there is a positive trend when 10 or above.

Note that Triglycerides at 90 are not bad.

however, 80 HDL is more desirable than 50.

LDL means little, because there is less cholesterol to transport fatty acids (both good and bad) through cell membranes. Total cholesterol is best to be above 200 (222 is the ideal number). This is in terms of mortality.

On lipid profile, Lipoprotein(a) is most important in regards to health and hair.
