topical beta-glucan (CS?)
there's a bottle of "Lavender enriched with Beta Glucan" Hand & Body lotion by Avalon Organics that is doing wonders for my dried and cracked skin in virtually no time (overnight!!!).
I am wondering if it could improve the scalp condition too... I saw by searching through the forum that CS considers system Beta Glucan mostly useless... how about topical? any thought on that?

Re: topical beta-glucan (CS?)
magic_gro - I've actually tried topical beta glucan before. Studies show that is very good for the skin.
Whether it will help with hair loss I do not know. I do not recall any perceivable benefits, but I'm just one sample. Internally I received non hair related benefits.

Re: topical beta-glucan (CS?)
Good info on the beta glucan magic_gro. I'm a dry skin guy myself, how does it compare to other topicals like emu oil? (if you've tried)

Re: topical beta-glucan (CS?)
I've only tried emu on my scalp...
my dry skin is just on my hands (between the fingers) and seems to be due to these public restroom infrared-activated taps that are set to mix water too hot (and that you cannot tune). I get pretty bad cracking from those. and the next day my skin is healed and amazingly soft.
This product is cheap (around $8?) and can be found at your local trader joe's... you may want to give it a shot for your skin...
